The Los Angeles Kings have traded defenseman Markus Phillips to the Winnipeg Jets for blueliner Nelson Nogier.

Nogier, 25, was drafted in the fourth round by the Jets in 2014 but has only seen 11 games of action for the Jets. Those games came split between 2016-17 and 2018-19, with Nogier spending the rest of his time in the AHL with Manitoba. Nogier is a hard-nosed blueliner that can throw big hits and annoy opponents.

Phillips, 23, was taken 118th overall by Los Angeles in 2017 but hasn't played in the NHL yet. Phillips has spent the past three years with the AHL's Ontario Reign, acting as a mobile defender that can join in on the rush.

This trade shouldn't have any real NHL impact.
