DETROIT - Mike Komisarek scored 2:21 into overtime to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 pre-season win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.

Mike Brown added two goals and Jake Gardiner had a goal and an assist for Toronto. Jonas Gustavsson stopped 26 shots.

Todd Bertuzzi, Gustov Nyquist and Johan Franzen scored for Detroit. Thomas Holmstrom had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 15 saves.

Red Wings' defenceman Brendan Smith was sent to Grand Rapids of the AHL on Friday after he was suspended for eight games—the remainder of the pre-season and five regular-season games—for a hit to the head of Chicago's Ben Smith on Wednesday.
