The Toronto Maple Leafs has addressed its goaltending situation.
The team signed former NHL goaltender and 2022 Olympic champion Harri Sateri to a one-year deal worth $750,000.
It's a one-way deal that will take him until the end of the season.
Sateri had a .926 sv% in 38 games for the KHL’s Novosibirsk Sibir this season. Sateri then was a big reason why Finland won gold in Beijing, posting a 5-0-0 record with a shutout and a .962 save percentage. Sateri is no stranger to NHL action, having played nine games with a 4-4-0 record with San Jose, Florida and Detroit over the past decade.
The news comes as Erik Kallgren has emerged as a realistic backup option for Toronto, while the team also put Petr Mrazek on waivers. Jack Campbell is out for another week with a rib injury.
