Tampa Bay Lightning goaltending prospect Amir Miftakhov has been placed on unconditional waivers for purpose of contract termination.

Miftakhov, 22, was drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 draft and made it over to North America for the first time this season. He spent time in both the AHL and ECHL, sharing the crease in Syracuse with Hugo Alnefelt and Maxime Lagace. Miftakhov posted a 7-8-0 record this season in the AHL and a 2-3-0 run with the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears.

Miftakhov had previously spent the two years before that between the VHL and KHL with Bars Kazan.

Alnefelt is the only goalie prospect currently signed by the Bolts, with Alexei Melnichuk being an RFA and Lagace being a UFA. Miftakhov had two seasons left on his entry-level contract.
