Maple Leafs send forward Battaglia to AHL for conditioning stint

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs sent forward Bates Battaglia to the American Hockey League on Thursday for a conditioning stint.

Battaglia has appeared in 13 games this season and has yet to record a point. The 32-year-old hasn't appeared in a game since Nov. 24.

He's earning US$625,000 this season.
