Detroit (41-14-8) at St Louis (28-26-8), 8:30 pm EST

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- Chris Mason has carried the St. Louis

    Blues into the playoff race.

The 32-year-old netminder will look to lead the Blues to their

fourth straight victory when they host the Detroit Red Wings on

    Tuesday.

Mason, who has allowed just one goal in each of the last five

games, has started 18 consecutive contests - posting an 11-3-4

    record over that stretch.

Thanks to Mason's effort, St. Louis has climbed within three

points of the postseason spot in the Western Conference.

Mason, who is 14-16-5 with a 2.33 goals-against average and four

shutouts this season, will be tested by the best offense in the

    NHL.

The defending champion Red Wings have scored a league-best 234

goals this season. Detroit trails the San Jose Sharks for the

    top spot in the West.

The Red Wings will be looking to bounce back from their worst

showing of the campaign, suffering an 8-0 thrashing from the

    Nashville Predators on Saturday.
