New York Rangers acquire Morris from Phoenix for Prucha, Dawes, Kalinin

NEW YORK - Derek Morris has found a spot on the New York Rangers blue-line.

The Phoenix Coyotes sent Morris to the Rangers for defenceman Dmitri Kalinin and forwards Petr Prucha and Nigel Dawes.

Morris has 12 points (5-7) and 24 penalty minutes in 57 games. He is in the final year of a US$3.95-million contract.

In 775 career regular-season games, Morris has 332 points (76-256) and 778 penalty minutes.
