There are more rumors in the NHL world than those about the big stars. Here's the roundup of five teams and some speculation surrounding them.

The July rumor mill has been dominated by speculation about stars such as Erik Karlsson, Connor Hellebuyck and John Gibson. Here's a look at some notable rumors on other players you may have missed.

Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette speculated that the Canadiens' depth at center could lead to Christian Dvorak and his $4.45-million annual cap hit being peddled before the start of the season. He also noted they tried unsuccessfully to trade winger Mike Hoffman and his $4.5-million AAV.

The Toronto Sun's Terry Koshan approved of Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving bringing some snarl to the club's forward lines by signing Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi. He'd like to see Treliving do the same for the blueline. Matt Dumba remains available in the free-agent market. Koshan wondered if Treliving would try to pry Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames.

San Jose Hockey Now's Sheng Peng cited Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman linking the Sharks to UFAs Vladimir Tarasenko and Matt Dumba. Sharks GM Mike Grier entered the free-agent market with an eye out for bargains. With Tarasenko and Dumba still available, Peng wondered if those two had entered “bargain territory.”

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Gustav Elvin noted that an agreed-upon deal between the Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes sending Tony DeAngelo back to Carolina was held up by a CBA technicality. It was expected to be finalized by July 9, but nothing's happened yet. Elvin wondered if the holdup has to do with the Hurricanes' interest in Erik Karlsson. (Update: The Philadelphia Flyers have placed DeAngelo on unconditional waivers on Friday for the purposes of a buyout.)

Buffalo Hockey Now's Michael Augello believes the Sabres will have to wait to trade Victor Olofsson. An injury to promising Jack Quinn could see them retain the 27-year-old winger and perhaps shop him during the regular season.
