Kim along with former executive director Ted Saskin were put paid leave of absence in March following allegations they read players' e-mails.

The NHLPA executive board, who voted unanimously to fire Saskin on May 10, made the announcement in a brief release, saying no further comment was forthcoming because "this is an internal matter."
