Those stories overshadowed several other notable rumors making the rounds of late. Here's a quick look at what you may have missed.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman believed the San Jose Sharks looked into acquiring Zadorov's teammate Noah Hanifin. However, he doubted the pending UFA defenseman would be a good fit with the Sharks. On Saturday, he mentioned the Arizona Coyotes took a long look at Hanifin last week.

Having signed Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele to contract extensions, the Winnipeg Jets could get pending free agent Nino Niederreiter inked to a new deal. The Winnipeg Sun's Scott Billeck reports the 31-year-old winger wants to stick with the Jets. Sources told Billeck that Niederreiter seeks a three or four-year contract with an average annual value between $4 million and $5 million.

The Province's Patrick Johnston reported the Vancouver Canucks would like to add a winger or a defenseman. He speculated that winger Anthony Beauvillier could hit the trade block. He's slated to become a UFA next summer, carries a cap hit of $4.15 million and is playing fourth-line minutes of late.
