MONTREAL - Rookie goalie Devan Dubnyk will go for his first NHL win when the Edmonton Oilers face the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

Dubnyk is 0-7-1 with a 4.26 goals-against average. He'll start ahead of Jeff Deslauriers, who is from nearby St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que.

Deslauriers said he was disappointed not to play in his home province. But he understood it was because of coach Pat Quinn's rotation in which a goalie only earns consecutive starts with a victory.

Deslauriers lost Edmonton's last game, a 4-1 decision to Ottawa on Tuesday.

Also, journeyman forward Chris Minard, recently called up from AHL Springfield after Patrick O'Sullivan suffered a finger injury, is to play his first game for the Oilers.
