After wildly underachieving in the post-season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have moved the deck chairs so many times it's been hard to keep up.
Now they're changing who will wear the 'C.'
For those of you keeping score at home, this continues a trend with this franchise of never having a captain actually retire with the 'C' on his chest for Toronto. The last one to do it was Ted Kennedy in 1957 when he came out of retirement for a year and shared the designation with Jimmy Thomson.
One can only assume that this is the change that this roster needs.
You have to credit the Leafs in that they've recognized this team can't seriously compete for a Stanley Cup and have moved mountains to get the right pieces in place. That is, of course, except for the one change that they needed to make before the opportunity passed them by.
