He was put in an untenable situation four days before training camp in Columbus last season after the Mike Babcock debacle, and he inherited a roster that struggled with injuries and production.
New Blue Jackers' GM Don Waddell probably knows this. But as they say, he's in the business of wins and losses and results, and sometimes, that results in unfair things happening to good people.
Waddell didn't leave his job with a Stanley Cup-contending team just to tiptoe through the Columbus situation. He was brought there to change the culture of the organization, and that's what he's going to do.
So, the franchise that has been surrounded by chaos over the past couple of seasons had better get ready for more change and uncertainty while Waddell shapes his vision for the club's future. Here's more:
