Los Angeles (26-25-9) at Detroit (40-13-8), 7:30 pm EST

DETROIT (Ticker) -- Chris Osgood is set to return to the crease

after his nearly two-week hiatus for a "mental recharge" when

the Detroit Red Wings face the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.

Osgood maintained a respectable record despite struggling this

season. The 36-year-old has posted an 18-5-7 mark with a 3.29

goals-against average and .879 save percentage.

A 14-year veteran with three Stanley Cup rings, Osgood has been

getting challenged by Ty Conklin for the starting job. Osgood

has allowed three or more goals in nine of his last 10

appearances.

The Red Wings, who are looking to sweep the season series

against the Kings, have won three of their last four contests -

including Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Henrik Zetterberg netted a shorthanded and power-play goal for

Detroit, which trails the Sharks by five points for the top spot

in the Western Conference.

Los Angeles was shut out for a ninth time this season on

Wednesday, suffering a 2-0 setback to the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Kings have lost three of their last four contests.
