The summer of the Ottawa Senators continue.

After acquiring Alex DeBrincat and Cam Talbot in trades, the Senators have landed one of the biggest names on the free agent market, signing Claude Giroux to a three-year deal worth $6.5 million per season.

Giroux, 34, spent 15 years with the Philadelphia Flyers before getting traded to the Florida Panthers at the trade deadline this spring. Giroux had 23 points in 18 regular season games with the Panthers and another eight points in 10 playoff games before an early exit. Giroux instantly bolsters the Senators in a big way. The team has DeBrincat, Drake Batherson, Connor Brown, Tim Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk, Josh Norris, Thomas Chabot and Jake Sanderson, among others.

Throw in Giroux, and the team's top-six gets even stronger, and the young club gets a huge veteran presence out of it. The deal was rumored early on, even while the playoffs were still on, and Giroux having the opportunity to be a leader on a team on the rise is a huge bonus.

Buckle up, Sens fans.
