UFA winger Patrick Kane is anticipated to sign a contract this week after months of speculation. What are the potential final rumors and speculation out there?

After months of speculation, Patrick Kane could potentially decide in days where he'll spend this season.
The 35-year-old UFA winger has been rehabbing from his June hip-resurfacing procedure. His anticipated return to action is slated for sometime in December. On Thursday, TSN's Darren Dreger said Kane is expected to reach a decision at some point this week as to where he'll be playing.
Which team Kane will sign with has been an ongoing guessing game for hockey pundits since the summer. He's been linked to the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs.
During the “Headlines” intermission segment on Saturday's Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman said most observers mentioned the Panthers and Red Wings as potential destinations for Kane. He thinks the winger has narrowed his choices down to two clubs, but he didn't indicate who they might be.
In his Nov. 23 “32 Thoughts” column, Friedman speculated the Colorado Avalanche may have made a pitch to the Kane camp. They've been playing well this season despite a banged-up roster, but it's believed they're in the market for additional scoring, especially after losing Arturri Lehkonen to an upper-body injury.
On Sunday, The Athletic's Peter Baugh wrote his sense that the Avalanches are closely monitoring the Kane situation. Nevertheless, he doesn't think they're among the top contenders for him.
Friedman also mentioned rumors are swirling about the Vegas Golden Knights having an interest in Kane. However, Vegas Hockey Now's Chris Gawlik doubted they could afford him given their salary-cap limitations unless one of their top six forwards ends up on long-term injury reserve.
