The Nashville Predators have addressed defensive depth concerns by sending a 2022 second-round pick to Seattle for Jeremy Lauzon.

Nashville was rumored to have interest in some extra defensive depth and they're getting it in Lauzon. The 24-year-old never could figure it out in Boston but has a career average ice time of 17:28, including a 17:49 in Seattle. So while Nashville might not need him to be a big contributor, the big, mobile blueliner has upside as a physical defender, something that might come handy during the post-season.

Lauzon is a pending RFA, with Ben Harpur and Jeremy Davies set to become UFAs. The second-round pick might seem expensive now, but if Lauzon ends up becoming something on a cheap renewal deal, it might be worth it.
