STANSTEAD, Que. - Even Prime Minister Stephen Harper is making jokes about the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.
At the announcement of a new arena named for former NHL coach Pat Burns on Friday, Harper recalled Burns coaching the Toronto Maple Leafs to a conference final appearance in 1993.
"But he didn't win the Stanley Cup, which goes to show that when it comes to the Leafs organization, a coach can take a team a long way, but only God can do miracles," Harper said with a laugh.
Harper grew up as a Leafs fan in Toronto.
