Libor Hajek

The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Libor Hajek to a one-year extension worth $800,000.

Hajek has spent his entire NHL career with the Rangers, playing in 94 games over four seasons. Hajek had one assist in 17 games with the Rangers this year.

Hajek has, for the most part, fallen victim to a packed Rangers blueline development pipeline, pushing him further down the lineup and limiting his playing time. With the Rangers close against the salary cap, and with Patrick Nemeth's future looking unclear, Hajek, 24, could see more playing time in 2022-23.
