    NY Rangers (34-24-8) at Carolina (35-27-5), 7:00 p.m. EDT

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The New York Rangers begin a

three-game road trip against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday,

when they aim for their fourth consecutive victory.

New York, which has scored 14 goals over its current run, used a

key tally from Nikolai Zherdev with 6:22 remaining in the third

period to post a 4-3 triumph over the Eastern Conference-leading

    Boston Bruins on Sunday.

The Rangers had dropped four in a row and seven of eight prior

to getting back on track, and are locked in a three-way tie with

the Florida Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguins for sixth place in

    the conference with 76 points.

Carolina, meanwhile, also puts its three-game winning streak on

the line, hoping to jump back into the top eight in the East.

Coming off a 9-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday,

the Hurricanes are in ninth in the conference with 75 points.
