If you compile a list of the best teams over the past couple of decades to not win a Stanley Cup, the Ottawa Senators would be right up there with, say, the San Jose Sharks.
And we're big on winning Stanley Cups around here, especially when it comes to NHL teams' Mount Rushmores. That's why it might be a surprise to see the Ottawa Senators ranked so low. After all, you have a Hall of Famer and a future Hall of Famer who is one of the best defensemen of his generation on the monument, but also a lot of players who were found lacking in the post-season and could not overcome their kryptonite, which was the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We like Ottawa's guys, including the mandatory player who is currently on the roster. But ya gotta win something, eh?
