Free Agent Frenzy continues to chug along.

The Detroit Red Wings added another body to its blueline on Saturday, agreeing to terms with defenseman Justin Holl on a three-year contract worth an average annual value of $3.4 million.

The deal ties Holl to Detroit through the 2026-27 season and represents a sizeable pay increase from his last contract, which paid him an annual sum of $2 million.

Holl has proven to be a capable puck-mover and penalty-killer throughout his time in Toronto, logging upwards of 20 minutes in average ice time in the club's top four in each of his past three seasons. Offensively, though, Holl offers little value, finishing the 2022-23 season with just two goals and 16 assists for 18 points in 80 games, even spending two separate stints as a healthy scratch both in the regular season and playoffs.

Not to mention, Holl has become notorious among Maple Leafs fans for his lapses, with the 31-year-old struggling to show poise with the puck and making questionable decisions in pressure situations.

Nevertheless, though, Holl is a mobile right-shot defender who can succeed in transition, which is clearly what the Red Wings are looking for. A yearly price tag of $3.4 million, however, is incredibly steep.

Stay tuned. More moves are continuing to roll in.
