Roundup of Notable NHL Rumors You May Have Missed

The NHL rumor roundup has the latest speculation on the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche.

Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Henrik Lundqvist tied Cujo in all-time NHL wins on this day in 2019.

It's been another busy week in the NHL rumor mill.

The Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers continue to figure prominently in trade conjecture while the guessing game over Patrick Kane's eventual destination continues. Meanwhile, pundits pondered the rising cost of signing Leafs winger William Nylander and whether the New York Islanders will make a trade.

Here's a look at several notable rumors that may have slipped through the cracks.

Desperate Oilers followers suggest their club should attempt to acquire Jeremy Swayman or Linus Ullmark from the Boston Bruins or Juuse Saros from the Nashville Predators. However, NBC Sports Boston's Nick Goss explained Swayman and Ullmark have bailed out the Bruins' sometimes-leaky defense of late. As for Saros, The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun cited Predators GM Barry Trotz saying he's spoken to the goalie's agent about commencing contract extension talks as soon as possible.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports the Philadelphia Flyers are interested in making moves that would help them build a stronger foundation for the future. They're willing to listen on every position but not every player, speculating that defensemen Sean Walker and Nick Seeler could draw some interest.

Earlier in the week, Dreger's colleague Chris Johnston reported Minnesota Wild head coach Dean Evason was in no imminent danger of losing his job over the club's poor start. Meanwhile, The Athletic's Michael Russo and Joe Smith wrote Wild GM Bill Guerin may have robbed himself of valuable trade-deadline chips by signing Mats Zuccarello, Marcus Foligno and Ryan Hartman to contract extensions.

During the Nov. 20 edition of the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman said it appears Colorado Avalanche winger Artturi Lehkonen's injury is “pretty significant.” As a result, they're in the market to add a depth scorer.
