Satan, Morrison and Roberts among players placed on waivers

Several players were placed on the waiver wire as teams attempt to open up cap space on the eve on the trade deadline.

Among the big names are the Penguins’ Miro Satan, the Ducks Brendan Morrison and the Lightning’s Gary Roberts.

According to Canadian sports station TSN, several teams are interested in the 42-year-old Roberts, including Calgary where he first played and captured a Stanley Cup in 1989.

Also placed on waivers were Martin Gerber and Brendan Bell in Ottawa, Aaron Voros and Erik Reitz of the New York Rangers, Eric Perrin of the Thrashers, the Blackhawks' Craig Adams and Jon Sim of the Islanders.
