The Nashville Predators were a team on the rise this season despite their first-round playoff exit, but with big moves including the signing of Steven Stamkos and others, can the Nashville Predators take the leap to serious Cup contenders?

The Nashville Predators have certainly been the story of the 2024 off-season thus far. The team made headlines last week when they signed not only veteran star Steven Stamkos but also 2023 Conn Smythe Jonathan Marchessault and defenseman Brady Skjei. This is also in addition to existing goaltender Juuse Saros who is expected to sign an extension this off-season.
This sudden influx of star talent will be a welcome addition to a Nashville team that already saw great promise last season which saw them earn themselves a trip to the Stanley Cup playoffs despite their first-round exit. Adding Stamkos, Marchessault and Skjei to a team already consisting of top talents like Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi, Gustav Nyquist and the previously mentioned Saros should be a nightmare for opponents. If this squad clicks early on and stays healthy, Cup contender status is certainly not a stretch.
Michael Traikos and Jacob Stoller discussed the Predators' recent signings and contender status further in Thursday's episode of The Wraparound Show:
