    The town of Terrace, B.C., will host a NHL pre-season game between the Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders, as winners of the Hockeyville contest, it was announced Saturday night.

    The small northern B.C. town will host the pre-season match on Sept. 14, as well as receive $100,000 towards arena upgrades as part of the prize.

    Terrace edged out four runner-up communities; Humboldt, Sask.; Woolwich, Ont.; Thetford Mines, Que; and Harbour Grace, N.L.

    Roberval, Que., hosted the event in 2008.
