After Bo Horvat reportedly rejected a contract offer from the Vancouver Canucks, the rumor roundup gathers the trade talk about the captain.

Bo Horvat's contract talks with the Vancouver Canucks appear to have reached an impasse. TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported the club is focused on the trade market leading up to the March 3 trade deadline after the 27-year-old center rejected their offer.
Horvat is slated to become an unrestricted free agent in July after completing a six-year contract with an average annual value of $5.5 million. His future with the Canucks was already a topic of conjecture among NHL pundits.
The Athletic's Thomas Drance and Rick Dhaliwal reported Canucks management and Horvat's camp declined to comment about the negotiations. However, they believe he was offered a maximum eight-year deal worth well below $8 million, which they consider the baseline rate for top NHL centers.
Drance and Dhaliwal noted how J.T. Miller was on the trade block for months before agreeing to a long-term extension in September. However, they claim the Canucks are actively listening to trade offers for Horvat. They speculate the asking price could be a package of young players including a center and a right-shot defenseman.
Canucks management was also in listening mode on Miller before deciding to sign him. They could do the same with Horvat but won't have the same luxury of time as they did during Miller's negotiations.
Horvat should draw plenty of interest from clubs seeking a scoring center.
The Province's Patrick Johnston suggested the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets as possible suitors. Sportsnet's Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman consider the defending Stanley Cup champion Avalanche as the destination that makes the most sense.
