The speculation continues on Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland from earlier in the week. Here's the latest roundup.

Earlier this week, we noted the recent speculation linking Conor Garland to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets. Since then, there's been some additional chatter regarding the potential interest of those clubs in the Vancouver Canucks winger.
On Monday, The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta also indicated the Blue Jackets and Predators were among the interested parties. He also claimed the Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes had reached out to the Canucks.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, however, a recent injury to defenseman Luke Schenn likely decreases the Predators' interest. While Pagnotta mentioned Dante Fabbro might be available, Friedman suggests that might not be the case with Schenn now sidelined for four to six weeks.
Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun observed the Jets' rumored interest in Garland had died down. However, he wondered if that might change following winger Gabriel Vilardi's departure from Tuesday's loss to the Los Angeles Kings with a knee injury.
If Vilardi had gone on long-term injury reserve like Montreal's Kirby Dach, Billeck suggested it would've freed up sufficient cap space to acquire Garland. Unlike Dach (who is out for the season), Vilardi suffered a sprain that will sideline him for four to six weeks.
As for the Blue Jackets, they're reportedly willing to move a defenseman. A right-shot blueliner such as Adam Boqvist ($2.6 million annual cap hit) or Andrew Peeke ($2.725 million) might entice the Canucks. However, the Jackets have just $3.4 million in cap space and would likely prefer that the Canucks retain part of Garland's $4.95-million cap hit in the deal.
