Top 5 NHL All-Star Game Jerseys of All Time

Ah, the all-star game. Love it or hate it, it's typically a fun experience that allows the NHL to move out of its comfort zone and try new things. And sometimes, they don't totally screw up the all-star jerseys, too. Here's a look at five of the best uniforms in the game's history.

NHL Trades That Both Teams Lost

Ah, the all-star game. Love it or hate it, it's typically a fun experience that allows the NHL to move out of its comfort zone and try new things.

And sometimes, they don't totally screw up the all-star jerseys, too. The 2022 sweaters are solid, for example.

In the over 70-year history of the game, we have been witness to some of the more unique jerseys the league has produced. Here's a look at five that have stood out over the years:

    Campbell and Wales Conference (1984-86)

We can't start anywhere else. For three seasons, the old Campbell and Wales conferences wore these beautiful jerseys with the colors based on the NHL's logo.

These are easily the best jerseys that players like Gretzky, Lemieux, and Messier donned during their trips to the mid-season classic.

Only a few teams can properly do justice to diagonal lettering and it worked exceptionally well for both conferences.

    Eastern and Western Conference (1994-97)

The mid-1990s were an era for true experimentation and these were no exception.

The era saw unique looks with teal and purple becoming prominent,t as well as the introduction of logos for the Eastern and Western Conference on the jerseys. A star was formed on the front of the uniforms, one of the more unique design elements of any jersey in hockey. The star element would be adopted by the Dallas Stars by 1997.

The name bars on the back of the jerseys being an extension of the star was an amazing look.

    Campbell and Wales Conference (1992)

The 1991-92 season was the NHL's 75th anniversary and they honored the occasion in a big way. Original Six teams wore retro jerseys throughout the year, a trend that was just starting in the world of professional sports.

When it came time for the ASG, the uniforms were a replica of what was worn back at the first official game back in 1947.

The stripes on the shoulders for both jerseys are striking and both the conferences would deviate from traditional black pants to red for Wales and blue for Campbell.

North America and World (2000, 2001)

The 2000s saw the game format change from East vs. West to North America vs. the World. With that came changes that once again reimagined what a jersey could look like.

The skaters on both teams for the 2000 and 2001 all-star games were wearing colored jerseys while the goaltenders wearing white ones with striping to match their teams. The concept of goalies wearing different jerseys hasn't returned, but it was unique in hockey at the time.

Also, check the name bar location. Kinda crazy for the NHL, right?

    Eastern and Western Conference (2004)

Radical designs took a back seat for something a little more traditional when the game headed to Minnesota in 2004.

In a style that we rarely see in the NHL, both jerseys used colors from the host team, with the East using the Wild's home look at the time and the East taking elements from the Wild logo and third jersey for colors.
