Alex DeBrincat, Petr Mrazek, and Zack Kassian were among the notable players traded prior to and during the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft. More moves could be coming during Day 2 of the draft, perhaps involving these five candidates:

J.T. Miller, Vancouver Canucks: The Canucks reportedly discussed a deal that would've sent the 29-year-old forward to the New York Islanders. Nothing came of it as the Isles instead shipped their first-round pick to Montreal for defenseman Alexander Romanov. Miller should still draw plenty of interest, though the Canucks will probably now seek a 2023 first-rounder as part of any return.

Jakob Chychrun, Arizona Coyotes: TSN's Darren Dreger reported of speculation linking the 24-year-old defenseman to the New Jersey Devils or the Ottawa Senators. Both clubs had picks in the top-10 of the opening round. With those selections no longer available, interested parties must find other options to meet what is believed a high asking price set by the Coyotes.

Vladimir Tarasenko, St. Louis Blues: The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford reports a source claims the 30-year-old right winger still wants the Blues to honor his trade request from last summer. He's a year away from unrestricted free agent eligibility. Rutherford listed the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers as possible destinations.

Jeff Petry, Montreal Canadiens: Interest in the 34-year-old Petry was reportedly high after the Tampa Bay Lightning traded Ryan McDonagh last weekend. However, the Canadiens might not move him after shipping Romanov to the Isles on Thursday.

Jesse Puljujarvi, Edmonton Oilers: Prior to the first round, Jesse Granger of Oilers Nation reported hearing the Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings and Nashville Predators were interested in the 24-year-old winger. Time will tell if that remains the case.
