VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks claimed forward Dale Weise off of waivers from the New York Rangers on Tuesday.

Weise split last season between the Rangers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Connecticut Whale.

The 23-year-old had no points with the Rangers while collecting 18 goals and 20 assists in 47 games with the Whale.

Weise, a six-foot-two, 210-pound Winnipeg native, was selected by New York in the fourth round of the 2008 entry draft.
