During his 20-year career with the Quebec Nordiques and Colorado Avalanche, Joe Sakic set a new standard to which all future members of the organization will measure themselves. With more than 1,300 games played, Sakic ranks first in franchise history and also holds the records for most all-time goals (625), assists (1016), and points (1641).

Sakic also served as the Avalanche captain for the club’s two Stanley Cup winning teams and was named tournament MVP at the 2002 Olympics where he was a pivotal member of the gold medal winning Canadian squad.

THN’s Ken Campbell caught up with 'Burnaby Joe' following the ring ceremony Monday afternoon to discuss the early struggles of the Nordiques, making the decision to return to junior and much more.
