Although he was never drafted into the NHL, Adam Oates is known for being one of the best playmakers in the league’s history. During his 19-year run, Oates built a successful career setting up teammates.
In Boston, Oates had one of his best seasons, recording 142 points in 84 games in 1992-93. At the time of his 2003 retirement, Oates had racked up 1,079 helpers, good for sixth on the NHL’s all-time assists list.
