With the departure of Daniel Alfredsson, the Ottawa Senators are in need of a new captain and Jason Spezza seems like the obvious choice. But for now, the Mississauga, Ont., native is focused on coming into Sens camp in tip-top condition.

But this past week his attention was centered on coaching at the 2013 Allstate All-Canadians National Mentorship, which is where THN’s Adam Proteau caught up with him.

The pair discuss Spezza’s involvement with the mentorship program, the captaincy in Ottawa and more.
