Throughout Saturday's contest, the Flyers matched the intensity of the crowd, taking a few runs at Gauthier, defending the honor of playing for Philadelphia. At one point in the game, Gauthier and Flyers right winger Travis Konecny had a dispute in the middle of the second period. It appears that Konecny told Gauthier, "I'll fight you." To add to the drama, Drysdale, one of the assets that Gauthier was traded for, scored in this game. He supplied the Flyers with a 2-0 lead at the end of the first frame and recorded a power-play assist in the final frame, en route to a 6-0 shutout victory for the Flyers. Gauthier had 13:19 of ice time in the loss, the lowest of his last four games. He finished the game with a minus-one rating and three shots on goal. The 20-year-old has five goals and 18 points in 42 games and ranks sixth among all rookies in scoring.
