The NHL continued to doll out the group of finalists for its prestigious awards on Tuesday afternoon, nominating one player from each of the league's 32 teams for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The award goes annually to the "player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and who has made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community." Each team selected its finalist, and a committee of senior NHL executives led by commissioner Gary Bettman and deputy commissioner Bill Daly will choose a winner. The winner will receive a $25,000 donation to benefit a charity or charities of their choice, while two runners-up will each receive a $5,000 donation. To determine the winner, the committee will apply a criteria that includes the investment of time and resources, a clear and measurable positive impact on the community, a commitment to a particular cause or community, use of influence and more. The winner will be announced during the NHL award ceremony on June 26 in Nashville. The list of nominees is below.
