On Saturday, Flyers GM Daniel Briere said he could entertain offers for the 24-year-old goaltender. He becomes an RFA with arbitration rights next July and will be a year away from UFA eligibility. The Flyers can open contract extension talks with Hart on July 1. Briere didn't sound like he's actively shopping his starter but could be gauging his trade value now in case those contract discussions become stalled. Hart could be interested in a long-term deal but could also be leery about investing his prime playing years with a rebuilding club. Hart was a member of that team but declined to comment other than stating he was fully co-operating with the NHL investigation. Sielski and Elvin suggest that interested clubs could prefer waiting for the full findings to be released by the league.
