Fabbro will be an RFA after his deal expires at the end of the 2023-24 season. The 24-year-old right-shot defenseman has recorded one goal and eight points in 56 games this season, a drastic drop in production from last season when he notched 24 points in 66 games. There was some speculation [https://www.thefourthperiod.com/feb-2023/predators-shopping-defenceman-fabbro] this week that Fabbro was being shopped by Nashville, with teams such as the San Jose Sharks linked to the 17th overall pick in the 2016 draft. It’s a little perplexing that Fabbro wasn’t dealt, especially with GM David Poile alluding to them becoming sellers [https://twitter.com/AlexDaugherty1/status/1625521915010973696?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1625521915010973696%7Ctwgr%5E700be9908e09c0539ab0b365eabda2b6b63b0a68%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpredlines.com%2F2023%2F02%2F16%2Fnashville-predators-trade-fabbro%2F]. Granted, Fabbro could still be dealt in this off-season, though he has a long way to go to prove to the rest of the league he’s worth that kind of coin. The Predators also extended backup goaltender Kevin Lankinen to a one-year $2-million contract. Lankinen has posted a .922 save percentage in 14 games this year. Nashville is currently six points out of the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, with two games in hand on the Winnipeg Jets in that spot.
