The news comes as the IIHF banned Russia and Belarus from competing internationally until at least the end of August, including the re-scheduled World Junior Championship that's expected to take place in Alberta. The 2023 edition was to take place in Novosibirsk and Omsk. Russia is also scheduled to host the 2023 men's World Championship in St. Petersburg, but that could also change. No replacement has been named yet by the IIHF.
