    The trades keep rolling in.

The Washington Capitals continued their selling spree on Tuesday afternoon, trading forward Marcus Johansson to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL draft.

Johnasson, who was acquired by the Capitals at last year's trade deadline, is in the final year of his contract at a cap hit of $1.1 million.

As was the case with Washington, Johansson will be returning to Minnesota for a second tour of duty, having spent one season with the Wild back in 2020-21. The 32-year-old is in the midst of a sneakily effective season in 2022-23, having racked up 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points in 60 games while logging upwards of 16 minutes in nightly ice time.

Over his career, the 2009 24th-overall pick has 157 goals and 435 points in 813 games played across six teams. He made it to the Stanley Cup final in 2019 with the Boston Bruins, where he put up 11 points in 22 games before losing to the Blues.

Johansson, 32, gives coach Dean Evason some extra depth in his middle six and someone who can play up and down the lineup.

The Wild are currently fighting for a playoff spot, currently hanging on to the third spot in the Central Division with 72 points in 60 games.

Stay tuned. More trades are coming.
