I have to take issue with Ken Campbell's opinion piece, "Drama Gone From Juniors," from the Dec. 28 issue.
While I agree that having the World Junior Championship away from North America would be beneficial to the tournament, his statistics are misleading.
I was at the Canada-USA game in Ottawa last year, and there was plenty of drama, as John Tavares led Canada back from a 3-0 deficit to win. And who can forget Jordan Eberle's goal with five seconds left against the Russians in the semifinal that led to a shootout win for Canada.
While Canada beat Sweden handily, 5-1, in the final, the year before was a different story as they beat Sweden for the gold in a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory.
Yes, Canada is dominant at the world juniors, and we have high expectations for a sixth gold, but a lack of drama...not for this hockey fan!
