Nashville Predators prospect goaltender Yaroslav Askarov is reportedly not happy with his spot in the depth chart. Which NHL teams are surfacing in trade speculation about him?

The Nashville Predators solidified their goaltending tandem on July 1, signing starting goaltender Juuse Saros to an eight-year contract extension and adding backup Scott Wedgewood on a two-year deal.
Those signings, however, blocked Yaroslav Askarov's path to the Predators roster for this season. The promising 22-year-old netminder seemed slated to spend a third season with their AHL affiliate in Milwaukee.
On Monday, however, ESPN's Kevin Weekes reported Askarov informed the Predators he would not report to Milwaukee and requested a trade.
Chosen 11th overall by the Predators in the 2020 NHL draft, Askarov is entering the final season of his entry-level contract and carries an affordable cap hit of $925,000. He will become an RFA next summer without arbitration rights.
The Hockey News' Emma Lingan noted that Predators GM Barry Trotz is aware of Weekes' report, but he expects Askarov to report to training camp next month.
The Tennessean's Alex Daugherty reported that Askarov's agent, meanwhile, declined to comment.
Heading into the NHL draft, TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported the Predators were getting numerous calls about Askarov. He claimed they set a high asking price, which included a top-five pick in the draft. However, they weren't in any rush to move him, and a deal failed to materialize.
On July 16, Sportsnet's Ryan Dixon wondered if the Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils or San Jose Sharks would consider acquiring Askarov as part of their long-term plans between the pipes. Otherwise, the rumors about the promising Predators netminder had mostly faded until Weekes' report.
So far, Trotz hasn't indicated if he'll honor Askarov's request or if the youngster might force the issue by refusing to report to camp. However, there's plenty of media speculation about potential suitors.
The Hockey News' Tony Ferrari listed the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Utah Hockey Club and Sharks as his proposed destinations. Rob Couch suggested the Sharks, Devils and Los Angeles Kings.
Colorado Hockey Now's Evan Rawal believes the Avalanche should be asking about Askarov. Philly Hockey Now's Jonathan Bailey thinks the youngster could be a fit with the Flyers.
This won't be the last time Askarov surfaces in the rumor mill, especially if he engages in a standoff with Trotz over his trade request. This situation will be monitored by clubs seeking a promising young netminder.
