The Anaheim Ducks got RFA center Mason McTavish under contract this weekend -- and in this interview with Anaheim media, Ducks GM Pat Verbeek spoke of getting McTavish signed. And he made it clear how crucial it was to get McTavish signed and in training camp as soon as possible.

"I think ultimately, both sides realized that you have to get the player in camp," Verbeek told THN.com's Derek Lee. "The player wants to be in camp. 
And so you work towards compromising for that to get done. So that was basically how it went the last couple of days, actually. So it was just a process."
