Awesome first game for the second overall pick!
The Anaheim Ducks suffered a tough defeat at home to the Dallas Stars in the third game of the season, but first-round rookie Leo Carlsson stole the show. He scored his first career NHL goal and looked the part of a professional player. It was a special night for the rookie, and the Ducks have to feel very encouraged by his performance. He showed that he got better as the game went on, and seemed to read the defense easier as well. Carlsson almost got his second career goal, but was denied by a great save. If he keeps this level of production, his getting taken second overall in this year's draft will be completely justified.
In other Ducks-related news, the team did lose to Dallas, but they hung in there well against a potential Stanley Cup candidate. Greg Cronin wants to see more defense from his team and Anaheim is off to Arizona for their next game.
