With opening night just around the corner, the Anaheim Ducks have waived three players to get the roster set for Saturday.
Per CapFriendly, Andrew Agozzino, Alex Stalock and Lassi Thomson have all been waived.
Agozzino and Stalock should clear without much issue, however, it will be interesting to see if Thomson makes it through.
If no other team places a claim on Thomson, the Ottawa Senators can re-claim him and send him to the AHL without waivers.
This would be an ideal situation for the Senators if they still believe in Thomson. He is a former first-round pick and they might want to get him back into the organization.
This doesn't fully set the Duck's roster for opening night as they still have a few decisions to make, but it does get them closer to that point.
They still have to decide between Jackson LaCombe and Olen Zellweger on the backend, but with both being waiver-exempt they can make that decision later.
