Turn in June 11 for a special E-60 spotlight!
E-60, the ESPN award-winning show is set to present 'Once Upon a Time in Anaheim' documentary, which tells the story of The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from expansion in 1993 to becoming a key member of the NHL. The special is scheduled to debut on Sunday, June 11 at 8 a.m. PST on ESPN.
The special is set to feature key players from the original Mighty Duck teams including Guy Hebert, Paul Kariya, J.S. Giguere and more. Many may remember the Mighty Ducks from the movies that dominated in the 1990s. The original film debuted a year prior to the real team claiming their spot within the NHL.
Within the film, it will tell the story of how The Mighty Ducks went from a loveable underdog story to a real problem for opposing squads. In 2003, the Mighty Ducks went on a magical run as the seventh seed, making it to the Stanley Cup Finals. They would ultimately lose in seven games to the New Jersey Devils but the heartbeat of validity for the franchise was born.
"What drew me to this story was the relationship at the center of it - the sometimes-awkward marriage between the glitz and glamor of Hollywood and the old-school values of 90s era NHL,"
Russell Dinallo, co-producer and director of 'Once Upon a Time in Anaheim.
