The Arizona Coyotes could look to draft center Dalibor Dvorsky with the sixth overall pick.

With the No. 6 overall pick, the Arizona Coyotes select …Dalibor Dvorsky from the HockeyAllsvenskan league.

Why pick him? Dvorsky played 38 games with AIK’s junior team where he had six goals, eight assists and 14 points. He also placed third among all Under-18 skaters in goals with 20 while on the Nationell junior under-20 team.

The 17-year-old center stands at a staggering 6 '1'’and weighs at about 201 pounds which is a great frame for a forward in the NHL. Dvorsky plays a complete two-way game. He uses his size and strength to gain an advantage defensively which could be utilized on any team’s penalty kill. Offensively, Dvorsky is an excellent puck handler but is headlined by his powerful and accurate shot making him a dangerous player whenever the puck touches his stick.

On the Coyotes, Dvorsky could play a huge role on both the penalty kill and power play if he reaches his full potential as a player. Dvorsky and Logan Cooley would form a lethal duo down the middle for Arizona that could be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams long into the future.

What scouts say: “Some believe Dvorsky will be a top-six center who has high-end goal-scoring ability and can be “the man” on his line the way that he was at the U-18s,” The Hockey News’ Tony Ferrari said. “Others believe he will be a solid two-way center who will play on the third line and be a contributor on the power play, with his U-18 play being more a case of a physically mature player beating up on less physically mature players.”

Other options: If the Coyotes decide to look elsewhere with their sixth overall pick, the team could potentially select other forwards including Oliver Moore, Zach Benson or even Russian phenom Matvei Michkov. If Arizona is searching for a defenseman, David Reinbacher should be available at the sixth pick.

What else is on the agenda: The Coyotes seem to be in a more competitive state which was shown when they acquired defenseman Sean Durzi from the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Don’t expect Arizona to make a huge splash this summer but the team might continue the trend of making moves that better position themselves for short-term success.
