The Colorado Avalanche claimed former Arizona Coyotes goalie Ivan Prosvetov off of waivers on Monday.

Prosvetov was drafted by the Coyotes in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft. It's been an up and down road for Prosvetov through his tenure in Arizona.

Over the course of three seasons, the 24-year-old played 13 games for the Coyotes where he went 4-6-1 with a 4.07 GAA and .871 save percentage.

Prosvetov spent most of his time in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners playing a total of 117 games for the team since being drafted in 2018.

With Pavel Francouz on injured reserve due to a groin injury, Peosvetov has a real chance to be Colorado's temporary backup where he may have the opportunity to prove that he does belong in the NHL.

Following practice on Monday, the Coyotes announced Michael Kesselring, Victor Soderstrom, Vladislav Kolyachonok and Zach Sanford have all been assigned to the Roadrunners as the team continues to cut down the roster ahead of the regular season.
