Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports - Barrett Hayton Reportedly out 4-6 Weeks With Upper-Body Injury

The Arizona Coyotes will be without Barrett Hayton for a pretty long time.

According to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan, Hayton is expected to undergo surgery on an upper-body injury suffered during the Coyotes Thursday night game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and will be out 4-6 weeks.

It was unclear when Hayton exactly suffered this apparent injury but he left the game in the second period and ultimately did not return.

Morgan also reported that the Coyotes are expected to call up center Jan Jeník from the Tucson Roadrunners.

Prior to his injury, Hayton had two goals, two assists and four points in 16 games but his impact went far beyond just his stats.

The Coyotes are losing their first line center which is substantial for a team that was really starting to click offensively.

Hayton served a valuable role for the team logging 18:37 minutes per game, was willing to get his hands dirty on the power play and played alongside Arizona's most lethal offensive weapon, Clayton Keller.

Coach André Tourigny will now be forced to make some major adjustments to the lineup with the absence of Hayton.

Time will only tell to see how the Coyotes adapt and play without their top center.
