Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports - Dylan Guenther Reportedly Recalled by Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes have reportedly recalled forward Dylan Guenther from the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League according to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan.

“Less than a week after I was told the Coyotes were content to let Dylan Guenther bake in the AHL, AZ has recalled him,” Morgan tweeted on Friday night

This move comes as the Coyotes are in the midst of a two-game losing streak where they have been severely outscored by their opponents.

In 29 games with the Roadrunners, Guenther has 10 goals, 18 assists and a team leading 28 points.

Guenther had a short stint with the Coyotes last year, tallying six goals, 19 assists and 15 points in 33 games before being sent down to the Western Hockey League to play with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Arizona drafted Guenther with the ninth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft in hopes he can emerge as one of the team’s top forwards in the future.

Right now, the Coyotes are in desperate need of an offensive spark and it seems that they are looking at the 20-year-old to provide it for them.

Guenther was with the Coyotes all of training camp, but ultimately failed to make the opening night roster. However, he has proven his worth in Tucson thus far earning a spot back into the NHL.

This will be Guenther’s chance to further prove that he belongs in the NHL and can be a valuable piece for the Coyotes moving forward.
